Push for Meaning
No Comments »Background
We help our clients define ways and means to collaborate with their clients, peers and partners on achieving their common interests. We make their initiatives into their marketing. And now we do it for ours too.
It was with this idea in mind that we decided to host a speaker series. We got in touch with Lou Rosenfeld, the publisher for an amazing group of authors about bringing them to Toronto and he suggested we contact the authors directly.
A couple of months later, we noticed Nathan Shedroff was going to be in town for the Design Thinkers Conference. Fans of his work, we got in touch about a beer. He was game, but as designers, we couldn’t leave well enough alone, and thus began a project whose scope continued to escalate until about 8pm the night of November 3rd.
Nathan welcomed our ideas and the chance to meet a group of smart interesting people in an informal setting. So, to beer, we added an important subject, dynamic panelists, engaging exercises, an inspiring venue, brilliant guests and markers. We charged a small fee and gave the proceeds to the Framework Foundation, a group focussed on helping prospective volunteers and the non-profits who need them find a love match.
50 People. 5 Panelists. 5 Questions: A collaborative Brainstorm session to chart a path to a more meaningful future.

Invitation
Since the economic crash in the US last October and the resulting repercussions worldwide, the media has been talking about the world moving to a post-consumer phase.
Sustainability and social justice pundits, along with economic visionaries, have spoken of more sustainable models for living more meaningful lives.
As the recovery creeps forward:
- Is the post-consumer, more-sustainable, more-meaningful world truly emerging?
- Or, are we merely going back to our old ways?
And, if this world is emerging (or could):
- What would it actually look like?
- What’s standing in its way?
- What’s the smallest thing we could do that would offer value now?
